As we began our study of The Sealed Book of Mormon, we were uncertain
where it would lead us or what we could learn from our study. The first
time we met online, we did not know where to start. Most times, one would
start at the front of the book. Somehow, the Holy Spirit led us to a
different page and a question. That is how we began our study in this book
with Chapter 7 of the Acts of the Three Nephites. And then the Holy Spirit
led us to continue going through the book from that point.
You will see that our studying progressed from reading an entire chapter
in one study meeting to now getting through maybe 5 verses in one study
meeting. You will clearly see the changes in our learning as you compare
the same chapters from our First Round of Reading to our Second Round of
Reading.
We invite you to start where you feel the Holy Spirit leads you. Learning
is slow at first but then your eyes will be opened to so much more love,
education, and guidance that you will be surprised. There are wonders in
this book that Our Lord is anxious for you to know.
It is also fine to start at the beginning. We do realize that some
chapters are missing. This was due to technical difficulties such as
computer failure or internet failure. We did not go back and redo
these chapters and leave them for your own learning.
If you would like to learn as we did, we make the suggestion that
you begin as we did, with Chapter 7 in the Acts of the Three Nephites,
which we first studied in 2020. Perhaps the Holy Spirit wanted us to learn
something in the back of the book to help us as we read the book from the
beginning.
When John Pratt passed away in October, 2021, we continued our studies.
This is why. John and I had discussed what to do when we had reached
Chapter 7, having completed all the chapters. The decision was made that
we should continue with our studies to the end of the book. Upon
completion of that, we had discussed giving more study to various
revelations from Our Lord to Mauricio and to becoming more acquainted with
remnants of the Church in Missouri, as we have been asked to do.
