The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in based in southern Brazil. John P. Pratt was baptized, confirmed, and ordained an elder by those in Brazil, giving him the commission to found a Utah branch to begin missionary work there. That branch was opened in Utah on Sat 11 Apr 2020 in Duchesne, Utah, founded with 7 members, the other six of whom were baptized that day.
